SHORT BUT SWEET: The Catholic mom was teaching her young son, little Sam, how to pray. One afternoon, as she was taking him to McDonald’s for a treat, they passed a fender-bender on the road. It didn’t seem serious, but the mother told her son that they should pray for accident victims. She prayed for the well-being of those involved in the accident. As she finished, little Sam piped in: “And God, please don’t let there be an accident at the entrance to McDonald’s.”
SOME THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK:
“If you’re lucky enough to do well, it’s your responsibility to send the elevator back down.” K Spacey
“As you get older there are fewer Do’s and Don’ts. You’re less judgmental of yourself and others. My advice: Be a good listener; human beings are very complicated.” Lisa Kudrow
“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.”Princess Diana
“When you say ‘yes’ to others, make sure you are not saying ‘no’ to yourself.” Paulo Coelho
“Loneliness does not come from having no people around you, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to you.” Carl Jung
ONE SENTENCE SERMON: Giving up on a goal because of a setback is like slashing your other 3 tyres because you got a flat.
