SOME THOUGHTS FOR THE WEEK:
“To find the air and the water exhilarating, to be thrilled by the stars at night, to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring – these are some of the rewards of the simple life.” J Burroughs
“A person being “too busy” is a myth. People make time for the things that are really important to them!” Mandy Hale
“Enjoy every sandwich.” Warren Zevon
“Everybody has something that chews them up, and for me, that thing was always loneliness. The cinema has the power to make you not feel lonely, even when you are.” Tom Hanks
“Our minds are like crows. They pick up everything that glitters, no matter how uncomfortable our nests get with all that metal in them.” Thomas Merton
“The worst thing in life you can become is cynical. Cynical is like concrete….and nothing grows in concrete.” Carlos Santana
ONE SENTENCE SERMON: Most of the problems in life are because of two reasons: we act without thinking or we keep thinking without acting.
WEBSITE OF THE WEEK: www.mothersandfathersmatter.org . Is a group set up to say exactly that, ‘mothers and fathers matter’
SHORT BUT SWEET: A student sat through an exam. The teacher supervising said time up but still the student carried on. The teacher said; “Hand your exam paper in now or I’m not going to accept it.” Still the student carried on. Thirty minutes later the student got up and stood before the teacher. The teacher looked at him and said; “I am not going to accept your paper. It is late”. The student looked the teacher in the eye and said; “Do you know who I am?” The teacher replied “No, and I don’t really care!” For a second time the student said; “Do you know who I am?” For a second the teacher replied “No!” The student replied; “Good!” He then lifted the stack of exams, stuffed his paper in the middle, and ran out of the room.
