PARISH OFFICE: Please note the parish office will be closed on bank holiday Monday, 1st June.

FAMILY TREE MASS: Will be held in Holy Cross Church, Charleville on Monday, 1st June at 3pm. Celebrant Fr. Eugene Barrett, OFM. All welcome.

MONTHLY MASS: In honor of St. Pio of Pietrelcina will be held in St. Joseph’s Church, Lismire on Wednesday, 3rd June at 8pm. All welcome.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL: St. Vincent De Paul will hold their church gate collection before masses next weekend, 6th & 7th June. Please give a little it will help a lot.

BRÚ COLUMBANUS: A 10k fundraising trek will take place on Saturday, 6th June in Kenmare to raise much needed funds for   Brú Columbanus. Brú Columbanus provides “home from home” accommodation for the relatives of seriously ill patients in Cork Hospitals and Hospice. Registration is €20 . Phone 021-4345754.

FIRST FRIDAY: Next Friday, 5th June is First Friday. Both morning masses, Taur at 9am and Newmarket at 10am will be offered as November masses for the dead. The sick of the parish will be visited on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday next week.

EXAM MASS: For all Leaving Cert & Junior Cert student’s will be   held on Saturday, 6th June at 7.30pm in St. Mary’s Church. Exam students, family & friends are welcome   to attend. If you or a member of your family are doing state exams this year, please write the students name on the sheet provided at the back of the Church. The youth choir will sing at this special mass.

Exam Prayer God stay close to me today, Guide my study and light my way. Ease my nerves and comfort me, With peace and love so tenderly. May I remember the things I need, And understand all I study and read. May I strive to give my best And do myself justice in each test. May the topics I know and like appear On the exam paper to lessen my fear. And during the moments I may feel stressed I’ll try to remember the ways I’m blessed. And if there are times that I feel at sea Help me to trust that you’re here with me. Amen.

CORPUS CHRISTI: The Corpus Christi procession will take place on Sunday, 7th June after 11.30am mass. The proposed route for the procession is up the Island Road and into Castlecourt for Benediction and final blessing.  Everyone welcome.

SUNFLOWER DAY: Sunflower day is Friday, 5th June. A collection will be held throughout the day in Newmarket on behalf of Marymount Hospice. Please give as generously as you can. All contributions will be greatly appreciated.

FOLLOW UP MEETING: Of Taur Church Centenary celebrations will be held on Wednesday, 3rd June at 7.30pm in Taur Church. Also, pictures of the weekends celebrations can be viewed on www.athtrasna.com/gallery/parish.

TIDY TOWNS: The tidy towns group are gathering on Tuesday next 2nd June @ 7pm… The main project this week is to weed the bio diversity garden, so if your available please come along. Your help will be very welcome.

SHORT BUT SWEET: Grace Davidson took her four-year-old granddaughter to “big church” for the first time. She sat quietly taking in every aspect of the service and her attentive curiosity stayed in check until the pastoral prayer. The pastor said, “We thank You, Lord, for Your presence.” The little girl’s eyes flew open and she whispered to her grandmother, “Granny, we’re gonna get presents!”
